Your Hosts:
This weekend we have three amazing facilitators to guide you. All three are long-time Kanuka Yoga teachers / founders with many years of yoga teaching and facilitating experience, along with other magical skills they'll bring to the retreat...
Meet Megan Blennerhassett
Megan has nearly 20 years teaching experience across many styles and audiences, sharing the yoga of healing and connection from kids to seniors, chair yoga to rehabilitation centres along with studio classes, private 1:1s and her own business.
She is trained in traditional yoga completing a 900HR Diploma. She is a certified Ayurvedic Dietician and Lifestyle Counsellor, and is certified in (Western) Nutrition. She is passionate about helping students understand the yoga system and, through practice, gain Self Knowledge and the peace and love that comes through that.
She also has magical photography skills and this is another huge passion of hers.
Meet Tanija Luke
Tanija has been operating Te Atatu Yoga & Pilates for over five years, and she's been a valued part of Kanuka Yoga's teaching team for the last three years.
With over 12 years of regular yoga practice, Tanija has a huge appreciation for the ability to slow down and re-connect with herself; her Yoga practice provides this space.
In her classes, you'll enjoy a diverse range of movements with an emphasis on breath connection. She will encourage you to listen to the rhythm of your body and take options to find stability, ease and comfort within each posture.
Meet Stu Larsen
Stu is the co-creator of Kanuka Yoga Space and is a certified 200HR Yoga Instructor through John & Nicole Allen's Yoga Teacher Training School in Auckland; teachings that provide a modern, trauma-sensitive lens on traditional yoga and philosophy.
He has continued his Yoga training with Inspire Yoga, completing a further 100HRs (towards his 300HR) in bio-mechanics, functional movement, and yoga philosophy.
Currently, he spends his time supporting the Kanuka Yoga teaching team and community, and is enjoying his time as a full-time musician; performing as a live, one-man-band at weddings and events around NZ, and also with his funky covers band, Bamboo Baby. He has a deep love for his natural surroundings, and spends time surfing, hiking and snowboarding whenever time permits!

Meet the Chefs - Sister Sei:
A small catering company dedicated to providing delicious plant-based cuisine while accommodating various dietary restrictions.
Sister Sei are passionate about creating exceptional culinary experiences that prioritise sustainability and environmental consciousness. With a focus on flavor, health, and the planet, we strive to make every event memorable and eco-friendly.
Why a Yoga Retreat?
When we leave our regular routine and explore new places or spend time with new people, it can give us a different perspective and open us to internal shifts that we can take back to our daily life.
We’ll be spending the weekend tuning into our internal worlds and using yogic practices to expand our own personal authenticity.
This is your opportunity to take a break from your regular weekend routine, to getaway and explore breath and movement, to meet like minded souls and create new connections, to enjoy stunning, fresh vegan meals and to find the rest when you need.
