Prenatal Summer Wind Down

Wanting to prepare your changing body and mind for the upcoming Summer Holidays?


Join Laura McKenzie for 90 minutes of gentle yoga flow, guided visualisations and breath work in the lead up to Xmas and the New Year.

Expect to learn new skills and practices which you can take with you where ever your Summer Holidays take you.


When - Sunday, 15th Dec

Time - 11am - 12.30pm

Where - Kanuka Yoga Space

We don’t recommend doing an active practice until you're 12 weeks along. It's best to begin with Restore classes for now. Please always let the teacher know you’re pregnant so she can suggest alternative poses for you.


Generally speaking, it's advised to avoid deep forward folds and twists (don't want to compress your baby's space too much).

"Was so great to have a class dedicated to us mums to be and Laura is fantastic.  I liked knowing what sort of moves were good and why, and it's helped me in more generic yoga classes too (knowing what's good for my body, how it will help through pregnancy etc). 


I've been to Laura's other classes and she always asks me how I am, if I have any concerns, is anything causing me pain/discomfort that she should be aware of.  I feel she really looks out for me and I really appreciate this attention.  I know I'm in safe hands.  Plus she's just a lovely person and it's a joy to attend her sessions.

 

I felt the class was relaxing (afterwards a persistent headache I'd had for a few days was gone) and a nice amount of stretching/being more physical.  Although I personally feel I could push myself further, but that's just me.
