We are thrilled to be back at Elijah Blue this September for another round of Wellness By The Water; a community health and wellness event hosted by Kanuka Yoga Space.

You can expect a gentle, morning yoga class led by Raquel Minh (Kanuka Yoga co-creator) with live acoustic melodies from Stu J, brunch from the amazing team at Elijah Blue in West Harbour followed by our health and wellness guest speakers, Zac Parish and Sonya Lyn, speaking about their experiences and sharing relevant information about wellness in these modern times.

Meet Our Guest Speakers

Zac Parish

Zac is the founder and director of the Awareness Academy. He's been teaching Meditation and Mindfulness for many years, with an emphasis on Mind and Emotions, Beliefs & Behaviours and Social Conditioning.

He has spent over 25 years working in the business sector and is passionate about raising awareness in business and education and to empower a new style of leadership in today's challenging times. He was also a Monk of the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.

Here is a short overview of what Zac will be chatting about at Wellness By The Water:

"We are currently amid an attention crisis... so, by using Mindfulness & Meditation we have an opportunity to cultivate our innate ability to reshape our thinking and deal with negative thought patterns.

Learn why Meditation & Mindfulness techniques are the ideal antidotes for mundane thinking and distractions. Learn how to create better focus, attention & memory skills that can also help with productivity; these techniques can also help with stress, anxiety, uncertainty and change.

I'll also be chatting about social and environmental influences and how this “lifetime” of conditioning shapes our view of the world, sometimes awesome, sometimes not.

In essence, a wandering mind can be the cause of an unhappy mind, and we'll explore how happiness is really an inside job!"

Sonya 'Sarayu' Lyn

Sonya Sarayu Lyn is an Artist of Sacred Practices and Spiritual Life Guide, offering an open-hearted approach through the ancient pathways of the enigmatic labyrinth, facilitated walks & workshops, and inspiring courses and retreats of creativity.

She is the creator of Bathology NZ, founder of NZ Labyrinth Connection and Founder & Facilitator of Breath of Spirit Life Balance Programs.

Sonya's passion is to guide others towards a spiritual, authentic, intentional life; a life in which you feel nourished by your choices. By creating Sacred Practices of meaningfulness in daily life that resonate with your own heart, connecting into personal wellness through ancient wisdom. In a time when our hearts can be deeply affected by our world, Sonya aims to bring balance and calm into the now.
