/// About Your Hosts ///

Raquel Minh

Raquel founded Kanuka Yoga in 2018 to create a community yoga space for all types of bodies and selected an amazing group of teachers to help cultivate inner-awareness for a wide range of personalities.

Raquel's classes take a trauma-informed approach and are typically structured around a vinyasa flow and weaving in yogic philosophy. She invites you to tune into your own inner landscape and wisdom while exploring the physical ground/space around. She has a degree in Psychology, over 500hr+ of Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher training, and has been practicing yoga for a decade.

Raquel Minh - Kanuka Yoga founder and teacher. Day Retreat.

She recognises her consistent yoga practice as a tool to stay balanced internally and within relationships in work and in her personal life.

Claire Robbie

Claire has been a devoted teacher of meditation and yoga for over a decade. She has led retreats, workshops and courses in Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Los Angeles, New Zealand, Fiji and the Philippines. She has taught hundreds of people how to meditate, and actively supports her students in their practices.

Claire Robbie from SOMM, in Auckland's CBD

Her teachings are the culmination of her study of Vedic, Hindu and Buddhist tradtions, integrated with her direct experiences from daily, non-negotiable practices.

"I teach people how to develop a dialy meditation practice because every fibre of my being loves talking about meditaiton, practising, learning about and sharing this anciet tool. I've experienced firsthand, what a consistent daily practice has the potnetial to unravel and open up for us."

Stu Larsen

Stu co-founded Kanuka Yoga back in 2018 and has been integral to the creation of the space as it currently operates today. He was introduced to yoga as a teenager, and has maintained a regular practice since 2014, completing his 200HR RYT in 2019 at RAW Yoga on the North Shore, and currently halfway through a 300HR training with Inspire.

He loves outdoor adventure sports like surfing, snowboarding and multi-day hikes and his classes reflect his calm demeanour whilst bringing plenty of dynamic, energising physical movement to the class.

Stu J - Auckland musician and yoga studio owner and operator.

Stu works full-time as a musician around Auckland; playing his one-man band style looping sets at venues around the Auckland region and beyond. He loves to integrate his two greatest passions together, music and yoga, and loves having the opportunities to create softer, more ambient soundscapes with his acoustic guitar, along with other healing sounds like chimes, handpan, drum and native-American flute.

We look forward to creating a magical day out on Auckland's stunning West Coast and would love to connect with you, and create some memories together.
